Send RFIs to Procore from Issues

Integrating a Newforma Konekt project with a Procore project lets you create RFIs directly from issues in the Issues activity center. Once created, the RFI appears as an item attached to the issue and is immediately linked to the integrated Procore project.

Prerequisites and Permissions

Sending a Procore RFI from an issue requires:

  • An active Procore project integration, connected from the Project settings page. Connecting this integration requires an Admin or Creator project role.
  • A valid Procore authentication token, or the ability to sign in to Procore when prompted.
  • An Editor role or above to create the Procore RFI.
  • An existing issue in the Issues activity center.

Create a Procore RFI

To create a Procore RFI from an issue:

  1. Select an issue in the Issues activity center.
  2. Select the Procore tab in the side panel on the right.
  3. Click Create Procore RFI.
  4. Assign the RFI’s manager from the dropdown menu.
  5. Select Draft or Open.
  6. Click Create.

Once created, the RFI appears as an item attached to the issue with these fields:

  • Project title: The Procore project integrated with your Newforma Konekt project.
  • Created by: The author of the RFI.

An issue supports one linked RFI at a time. A new RFI cannot be created for an issue until the existing one is unlinked.

Open an RFI in Procore

To view an RFI’s full details, open it directly in Procore. To open an RFI in Procore:

  1. Select an issue in the Issues activity center.
  2. Select the Procore tab in the side panel on the right.
  3. Click the (…) button associated with the RFI.
  4. Click Open in Procore.

A new browser tab opens, directing you to Procore. You may need to sign in to view the RFI.

Unlink an RFI from an Issue

You can remove the link between an RFI and an issue at any time. To unlink an RFI:

  1. Select an issue in the Issues activity center.
  2. Select the Procore tab in the side panel on the right.
  3. Click the (…) button associated with the RFI.
  4. Click Remove link.

Once unlinked, the RFI is removed from the issue and is no longer visible there. The RFI is not deleted from Procore.

Expected Behaviors

  • The RFI’s fields can only be updated in Procore. Newforma Konekt does not support editing an RFI’s fields after creation.
  • If the project’s Procore integration is removed, the Procore tab no longer appears when you open an issue in the Issues activity center.
