What is Archicad?

Archicad is an authoring design software primarily used by architects and BIM managers that has a reputation for being user-friendly, allowing architects to focus on their end-goal of designing. For more information, check out our blog post.

How to get started with the plugin?

The Newforma Konekt plugin for Archicad 23 to 27 is available to all Archicad users. We have written a series of Help Center articles that walks you through downloading the plugin and getting started.

What can I do with the plugin?

In addition to the creation and management of multiple issues and topics, the plugin allows you to directly publish your latest versions of the model and the associated 2D deliverables (plans, sections) to Newforma Konekt’s web viewer (see Using Newforma Konekt for Archicad).

For an overview of the plugin’s features, see Newforma Konekt for Archicad.

Can I publish clashes to Newforma Konekt?

There is a collision detection tool in Archicad but the Clashes to issues feature is not available.

Are there any limitations that I should be aware of?

  • You can comment on an issue but it is not possible to attach images or mention someone in a comment.
  • Drawings can not be published to the web viewer (sheets must contain the model views).
  • You can publish issues from 2D but these issues must always be localized so the selection zone could be created in Revit or the viewer.
  • A certain number of features are not currently available, including attachments, show/hide view pinpoints, add a location on existing issue, quick filters, save and restore section box / planes, and publish schedule.
