Using Newforma Konekt for Archicad

This article explains how to use the Newforma Konekt plugin for Archicad to create issues and publish models/sheets to our viewer.

Create an issue

1. In Archicad, open the desired project.
2. In the ribbon, click the Abvent tab > Newforma Konekt > Login to launch the plugin.
3. Once logged in, in the Newforma Konekt panel, click on the logo in the upper right corner to select a hub and then select a project.
4. From drop-down list on the left, select the desired option:
   • Create Issue – create an issue from a camera position or from a selection of elements
   • Localize Issue – create an issue from a specific location in your models and sheets
   • Views to Issues – turn saved viewpoints into issues
5. In the window that opens, enter a title and fill out any other relevant fields.
6. When you are satisfied with your issue, click Apply. It will be immediately accessible to other users, who can resolve it in their own software using Newforma Konekt’s add-ins.

If for any reason you want to archive your issue, click the icon in the upper right corner of the issue > Archive.

Edit one or multiple issues

1. Find and select the issue(s) you want to edit.
   You can filter issues to see the open issues assigned to you.
   • To edit an issue, click the icon in the upper right corner of the issue > View / Edit. To view an issue, you can also use the View in model feature, or click its image to zoom or open the associated viewpoint.
   • To edit multiple issues, once selected, click the icon in the upper right corner of the panel > Multi edit.
2. Make the desired changes. For example, you can use the image editor to draw shapes, add text, and more on your screenshots. If using a Windows system, the image editor will be Microsoft Paint.
3. Click Apply.

To add a new viewpoint, click the icon in the upper right corner of an issue to use the Add from active view feature.

Publish models and sheets to the viewer

1. In the Archicad ribbon, click the Abvent tab > Newforma Konekt > Publish.
2. In the Publish IFC Models section, select an IFC translator, a view to export and a discipline.
   Please note that when you publish a model from Archicad, you export the selected view. If multiple models are visible, they will be published as a single federated model.
3. By default, the model to be published is recognized as a revision to an existing model on Newforma Konekt. If the model is not yet on Newforma Konekt, click Create Model.
4. In the Publish PDF Sheets section, you can also publish your sheets to Newforma Konekt.
   It is not possible to publish 2D drawings.
5. Click Publish.
6. Once the export is completed, click Close.
