Benefits of Using Related Items
By linking different items, you can easily track which project documents and actions are connected. This ensures that all team members have the full context of related project components, which can improve communication and reduce potential delays.
Types of items that can be related. Want to quickly access that email that you received about that RFI? Link it as a related item!
Requirements
To see/use related items, the user must be a:
- Creator
- Admin
- Editor
- Reader
- Related items are not available for the “Reviewer” role
The Related Items feature is currently available in the following activity centers:
- RFI
- Submittals
- Change Management
How to use Related Items
Related Items allow users to link various project items together for easy reference. You can link RFIs, Submittals, Change Management, Emails and Issues to track connections and dependencies between these items.
In Newforma Konekt, open the desired project.
- Navigate to the item you want to create a relationship for. This can be an RFI, Submittal, Change Management item, Email, etc.
- On the item’s detail page, locate the Related Items tab.
- Click Link Item at the top-right corner of the Related Items tab.
- A dialog box will open. You can search for the specific item you want to relate to and use the drop-down menu to filter the type of item you want to relate to (RFI, Submittal, Change Management, Email, Issues, File, and other activity centers).
- Once you’ve found the item, click Link item
How to View Related Items
- After adding a related item, it will appear in the Related Items tab of the item’s detail page.
- You can click on any related item to navigate directly to the activity center of the selected item, creating an instant shortcut and a relationship between the two items.
- Please note – when a relationship is made for an item, it is also automatically created to the corresponding item. (eg. Linking an RFI to an Email will also link that Email to the RFI)
