Malware scan for documents uploaded to Newforma Konekt
Documents uploaded to the following activity centers are scanned for malware:
- The Issues board
- The Legacy viewer
- Project settings
- My profile
- The Outlook add-in
- RFIs
- Submittals
- Change management
The documents may be flagged as malware for any of the following reasons:
- Importing issues
- Comment uploading issues
- Attachment uploading issues
- Issues uploading Models in the 2D or 3D viewer
- Issues uploading images in the hub
- Issues uploading project images
- User image issues when uploading images to the My profile page
When documents containing malware are identified, they are moved to quarantine. The quarantined file is no longer be available for download; however, the file will be displayed in in the Comments and History tabs to preserve the history in Konekt. Users will see an error message if they try to download the file and it is impossible to include any malware documents in any export functionality; for example, export issues or models.
When a document is identified as malware, an email to is sent to the Hub Owner, Project Admin and User informing them that a document was identified as malware and quarantined.

The email sent to users contains the following information:
- The activity center where the malware files is located
- The file type
- The file name
- The file size in bytes
- The date the file was uploaded
The email sent to Hub owners and Admins contains all the information above and:
- The user email for the person who uploaded the malware file.
