Use Document control to upload new files or add versions of existing files. You can also rename, download, and delete files. To import metadata to associate to files, see Import and Manage Document Control Metadata.

Add files

  1. In Newforma Konekt, open the desired project.
  2. In the main menu, under Project menu, select Document control.
  3. Click Add files in the top-right corner of the page.
  4. Click Browse to navigate to the file on your computer that you want to upload and select it for upload. To select multiple files at once, hold Shift or Ctrl. You can also drag and drop the files that you want to upload.
The maximum number of files that can be uploaded is 100 at a time.
  5. You have the option of uploading a file as a new file or as a new version of the existing file. You can also associate a file with previously imported metadata (placeholder). If a file or placeholder with the same name is found, the system will detect the duplicate name.
    • When uploading a file with no matches, the label Recognized as new file will be visible under the file name. If you manually assign the file as a new file by selecting Assign as new file from the dropdown, the label will be Marked as a new file.
    • When uploading a file with the same name as a placeholder, the label Matched with imported metadata will be visible under the file name. If you manually associate it with a placeholder by selecting the desired placeholder from the dropdown, the label will be Marked with imported metadata.
    • When uploading a file with the same name as a another file, the label Recognized as revision will be visible under the file name. If you manually assign the file as a revision by selecting the desired file from the dropdown, the label will be Marked as revision.
When uploading a revision, you are prompted with the prefix and revision number but you can edit the default values. If you wish to utilize a suffix, you can add it to the revision number. For example, if you upload revision 5 with the prefix S, you can add the suffix DG3, which would display as S 5.DG3. When uploading multiple revisions for the same file over time, the system will auto increment the revision number. If you change the prefix at upload to D the system will auto select the available number for the prefix D, if not used it will be 1, if in the past it was used for the document up to D2, changed to S and then changed back to D, the system will auto increment to D3.
  6. Click Upload. You can click Cancel to cancel the upload.
