Unified Project Access in Newforma Konekt lets users with licenses for both Newforma Konekt and Newforma Project Center view and open all of their projects in one place. After signing in to Newforma Konekt, users can locate projects from either platform and navigate to them directly, without switching between systems.

Unified Project Access supports your transition from Newforma Project Center to Newforma Konekt while providing support to long-term projects that require on-premises solutions.

1. Prepare for Setup

Unified Project Access is a one-time setup that requires completing the following steps:

  1. Ensure access to a Newforma Konekt Hub.
  2. Request Unified Project Access for your account by contacting your account manager or Newforma Support.
  3. Ensure the Azure Application Framework is set up on each Newforma Project Center Server.
  4. Ensure the Newforma Project Center Server is version 2024.2 or higher.

To complete this setup, admin permissions are required in both Newforma Project Center and Newforma Konekt:

  • New Project Center: Admin
  • Newforma Konekt: Hub Admin or Hub Owner

2. Create Access Key and Secret

The access key and secret are used to securely authenticate and connect the Newforma Konekt hub to Project Center servers. To create an access key and secret:

  1. Sign in to newforma.cloud in your web browser.
  2. Click Generate Service Access Key.

Save these values. You cannot retrieve them after leaving this page.

3. Configure Unified Project Access within Newforma Konekt

Follow these steps to connect the Newforma Konekt hub to Newforma Project Center servers:

  1. Log in to Newforma Konekt as an admin and open the hub where you want to display Newforma Project Center projects.
  2. Select the Integrations navigation item.
  3. Locate the Newforma Project Center tile and click Connect Hub.
  4. Enter the access key and secret and select Connect to NPC.
  5. Enter the names of the Newforma Project Center servers you want to connect and click Connect.

Setup Outcome

A Newforma Project Center tab will appear as a navigation item in the sidebar under Projects. Select it to view projects from the chosen servers you can access. Selecting a project redirects you to Newforma Launcher, which opens the selected project’s home page in Newforma Project Center.

Use the Newforma Konekt search bar to find Newforma Project Center projects by name or number.
