File an Email as an RFI from Outlook

You can file an email as a new RFI or an RFI response using the Newforma Konekt add-in for Microsoft Outlook. You can also log multiple RFIs from the same email. If so, make sure the Delete email when filed option is disabled in the add-in settings.

Log a new RFI

  1. In Outlook, select the email you want to file as an RFI.
  2. Click the Newforma Konekt icon in the message surface.
  3. In the Newforma Konekt panel, sign in using your company-issued account, then select the desired hub.
  4. Click File Email and select File as RFI from the dropdown menu.

  5. Select the project you want to file the email to. By default, you are logging the email as a new RFI. To log the email as an RFI response, refer to the Log an RFI response section.
  6. Fill out the fields. The email’s subject appears in the Subject field, the body is automatically added to the Question. You can modify any information as needed.
  7. Under Attachments, choose the attachments you want to include with the RFI.
  8. Click Log new RFI to create the RFI, or Log and file another to log the RFI and file the same email as another RFI.

Log an RFI response

  1. Once you select the project you want to file the email to, select Log response.
  2. Complete the information as needed. Required fields are indicated by an asterisk (*).
    Field Description
    Forwarded RFI* Select the forwarded RFI you want to respond to.
    Action* Select one of the following options from the drop-down list.
    • Answered
    • Not answered
    • More information needed
    From* Select the project team member who responded to the RFI.
    To* Select the project team member that will be responsible for reviewing the response. By default, it is assign to you.
    Cc Select other project team members to submit the RFI response to.
    Response Enter your response. By default, the body is automatically added.
  3. Under Attachments, choose the attachments you want to include with the RFI response.
  4. Click Submit response.
