Model information and Discipline management

In the Viewer, users are able to see see the Model information and manage the Discipline in the Details tab of the of the right-side panel.

Introduction

To access the Model information and the Discipline management, follow the steps below:

  1. In Newforma Konekt, select your Project.
  2. Click on Viewer in the Project menu, in the left side panel.
  3. Click on the Models icon at the top of the left side panel. The Model tree appears below.
    Note that you can use the Search bar to search for a specific model.
  1. Hover over the Model you want to learn more information about or edit. The … Three dots appear.
  2. Click on the … Three dots. The Action menu opens.
  1. Click on View details in the Action menu. The right side panel opens.
  2. Click on the Details tab (default selection) at the top of the right side panel. The Models information appears.

The Details tab contains the following Models information:

  • File name: The name of the file.
  • Version: The version number reflects the version number of the file you selected in the left hand panel.
  • Upload date: The date the version of the file was uploaded to the Viewer.
  • Uploaded by: The name of the user who uploaded the file version to the Viewer.
  • Latest version: The latest version of the file available in the Viewer.
  • Uploaded by: The name of the user who uploaded the latest file version to the Viewer.
  • Discipline: The Discipline assigned to the model. Click on the discipline to open the in-line modification. Refer to the Edit Disciplines section below for more information.

Manage disciplines

To manage disciplines, follow the steps below:

  1. Follow steps 1-7 above.
  2. Click on the discipline in the right side panel to open the Discipline dropdown menu.
  1. Click on the desired discipline in the Discipline dropdown menu to assign it to the model.
  2. Click on the x next to a selected discipline to remove it from the model.

Important notes:

  • Changes made in the Next Gen Viewer are reflected in the File manager (Files activity center) when they are connected.
  • If the Viewer isn’t connected to the File manager, disciplines are synchronized with the Legacy viewer.
